Hi there! I'm Jen Mulkeen, and I am the Owner and Creative Director of Penny Luck Creative. I am so thrilled that you’ve found your way here, and that I have the opportunity to tell you a little bit about myself.
Prior to founding Penny Luck Creative (a long-time dream underway to becoming full-time reality), I spent my professional career based in the NYC Metro area in roles that allowed for in-depth experience in the fields of both brand marketing and events. If you’re interested in the details, you can learn more about my full professional background here.
I fell in love with design early on in life, and for as long as I can remember it’s remained a fundamental source of my joy. I spent nearly my entire childhood enrolled in arts-focused curriculum and training, my college years pursuing a minor in Studio Art, and my career working closely with both internal and external creative teams and agencies.
It was my first job out of college where my passion for design, events, and marketing converged and I discovered an entirely new (and, unexpected) fulfillment in creating beautiful, custom stationery. I’ve since then immersed myself in as many custom projects as possible, considering each one a cherished opportunity to be a part of my clients’ most celebrated occasions. To have discovered a way to fuse all of my interests and experiences and channel them into working with others to create something so special is truly an honor.
I believe wholeheartedly in thoughtfully designed stationery’s ability to set the tone of a celebration, reflect the personality of those hosting or being honored, and to evoke some of life’s most treasured sentiments in its recipients. Stationery is where your event begins to come to life, and a token that you will always have to remember it by.
A native of Hudson County, NJ I currently reside in my childhood home that my husband and I spent the better half of 2016 renovating together (despite having zero experience in home purchases or renovation). I'm a 2009 graduate of Loyola University in Baltimore, MD, and in my free time I can often be found scrolling through the pages of my favorite lifestyle blogs, perusing the neighborhoods of Hudson County with coffee in-hand, sipping on a glass of Prosecco, or enjoying sunny beach weekends in Long Beach Island, New Jersey.
I look forward to meeting you, learning more about your celebration, and hope that we have the opportunity to work together soon!

The company's name pays homage to my late grandmother, Regina, who taught my family more about life than we will ever be able to thank her for, and who always encouraged us to retrieve stray pennies from anywhere (truly, anywhere...) that we spotted them. Despite their size, minimal worth, and assumed insignificance, she instilled the belief in us that each one discovered carries with it immense luck and serves as a token of love from someone watching over us. It's a sentiment that I cherish deeply as it has gifted each of us with a profound understanding that often it's life's smallest treasures that carry with them the greatest significance.
